In the modern chemical analysis, the analysis of elements which are closely related to human health, environment protection, material composition, mineral content and food safety attract more and more concern. As is known to all, the abio-analysis includes sample pretreatment and analyze by instruments. Modern instruments (as AFS, AAs, ICP-AES, ICP-MS etc.) and technology have developed rapidly. The measurement can be completed within several minutes, even seconds while the sensitivity and precision are satisfying. Therefore, the technology and methods for sample pretreatment are the determinants in the speed and quality of analysis. However, the present sample pretreatment methods like acidolysis, alkaline bath and dry process incineration which are usually adopted by laboratory have various disadvantages, for example, long-last period, huge energy consumption, large amount of reagent needed, sample cross contamination and target element (esp. As, Hg, Pb, Se, etc) losing during the pretreatment. Scientists have been keeping trying to discover methods to overcome these shortages and finally, in 1986, put forward the idea of using microwave into the pretreatment process of sample. Once the idea was raised, related high-pressure and normal atmosphere methods, technology and instruments of microwave digestion/extraction were widely accepted and developed tremendously. With more than ten years’ development, our company have developed and produced a series of microwave digestion/extraction which were approved by our clients. In order to meet the market and clients’ requirement, we produced a upgrading instrument – XT-9900A Intelligent Microwave digestion/Extraction which was designed based on the original XT-9900 Intelligent Microwave digestion/Extraction. XT-9900A was developed according to our study during these years. It kept the advantages of XT-9900 and improved on the appearance, interface design and vessel’s material.
